Sage Instant - USB backup between PC's ?
Permalink Closed

Hi all,

Can you take the backup from one PC with Sage Instant Accounts on a USB or backup disc and upload the backup file onto another PC with Sage Instant Accounts and work on it as normal ?

And does the Sage software have to be the same version?

Any help would be appreciated, never been asked and never tried it, yet :)

Thanks anyone.

Hi Jordan,

Yes you can do that but don't forget that the data will be completely separate in both cases, so if you work on the data on one pc you will have to restore a backup to the other pc before you work on it again.

Yes they have to be the same version. You can restore from an older version into a newer version, but you cannot do it the other way round as once you restore the data into the newer version the data is converted and is not backward compatible.

Thanks Pauline, will give it a test run and see what happens but check the software versions before doing anything smile

Thanks again
