Sage 50 change of year end
Permalink Closed

I have a client who has changed his year end from 31st October 2014 to 31st December 2014.

His year end as set up on Sage is 31st October, and I'm trying to work out the best way to make

the change. I'm thinking I need to do his accounts to 31st December (albeit 2 months of it will be

in the new year), then close the year to 31st October 2014, and then change the year end on Sage

to 31st December. I think this will then "lose" November & December 2014 but that's OK as I will

have dealt with those months in the Accounts for the 14 months to 31st December. (Not sure

what brought forward figures I will have, but I can adjust those).

The alternative may be to start a new company with a year end of 31st December but I don't really

want to have all the history in a different company, and we use Inventory for this client and I really don't

want to have to set up all the products again.

We are using Sage Line 50 2013 Version 19 (19.01.11.285)

If anyone can suggest anything which will help, I'd be most grateful.....

Eunice

I would agree with your above post, it would be worth downloading the profit and loss monthly report onto csv

When you advance the year then the earlier month become part of the "brought forward" values in the monthly accounts

You can use the "transactional" TB/BS and P&L to run reports for the whole period.
