New Starter Declaration when been self employed

Hi,

I have a client who has been self employed and has now stopped trading and has a job. They have been given a p46 to complete and have asked me which boxto tick, a or b.

I'm not sure.... any help out there?

Box A - unless any of the Jobseeker's Allowance etc apply to them. They have not been using up any of their Personal Allowance in another job so their tax code will be 1000L.
