MLR Registration
Permalink Closed

I was wondering if anyone could help me? I sent off my MLR100 to register with HMRC, but I read the info wrong and submitted an MLR101 as well, and paid the extra £100 fee. I know now, I've done that wrong, and I only needed to submit the MLR100.

Any ideas on what they'll do? I could cancel the cheque and call them to let them know what I've done and resubmit the MLR100, or just wait and see if they grant the licence? Obviously I can't trade until they grant the licence, so I'm not sure what to do for the best (and quickest) option!

Just ring HMRC, that team answer their calls really quickly. Explain and I'm sure they will sort it.

Thanks Cheshire. I rang HMRC but couldn't get though to the right department. Someone gave me an email address, so I've emailed them and hope it gets sorted. I know I can't trade until I get the registration sorted, but can I start looking for clients, so long as I don't start any work or get any engagement letters signed do you think?

If you haven't yet got any clients, finding them will. I'm sure take longer than the registration to come back anyway. I have a direct line number for this department, at home so if I remember when I get back tonight I will dig it out and post it for you. Unless someone else can help on that score from their letters before I get back.

Thanks everyone. I finally got through to someone today and the registration is going to get sent back to me and I'll have to resubmit with a new cheque. It's all a bit annoying, but not the end of the world!
