Fixed Asset Register

Hi All,

Before I rush off and start reinventing the wheel do any of you know if there is a standard format for a Fixed Asset Register, and if so can you let me have an Excel template.

If not what do you think I need to hold in the way of data?

Cheers

Chas

Hi Chas

List of assets per fixed asset detailing for each asset

1. Description of what it is

2. Date Bought

3. Cost Price

4. Rate of Depn

5. Depn at start of year and charge for year

6. NBV at start and end of year

Easy enough to do your own excel template including all the above

In addition to Mark's post, you might want to add a colum for the depreciation method for reminding purposes.

Also, classification (P&M, F&F, Motor Vehicles etc), date of disposal, cost and accumulated depreciation disposed, sales proceeds and profit / loss on sale.

It can also be useful to record the tax treatment of each asset.

Thanks all, very helpful.

Ian
By tax treatment I assume I should record things like asset pool, writing down rate and written down value.
