Hi,

Im opening a startup in the UK and wondering whether anyone can help me with ins and outs of registration for VAT? Ive stumbled upon a pretty decent resource helping with VAT registration. Hope << Hidden embedded link removed by moderator >> one will come in handy, but I wonder whether there are any steps I can do by myself in order to make everything right.  Looking forward to your help. Thanks.

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

You should check out answers with reference to the legal position

Doubtful if there was any eliment of legitimacy to this cut and pasted post.

To add to that, we are not a site for business owners but rather for accountants and bookkeepers to help each other.

Your post has no reference to professional allegiance or experience but simply spams a site with a partially hidden link (thats for bringing that to my attention Joanne).

If you need help, go to any high street accountant who will confirm your identity, source of the money behind your business, and your business case. That part is normally done free of charge then when they are satisfied that they are happy to represent you then they will help you set up all this sort of thing.

If because you are not in the country (I believe that you are in Kiev in the Ukraine) the accountant is unable to determin the source of your capital injection into the UK business then you may have difficulty finding representation... Including from people here who would need to perform similar tests on your business before accepting you as a client.
